2016 Annual Conference in Toronto - September 2-4, 2016

The 2016 ECFC Annual Conference will be held in Toronto church, September 2-4, 2016.

The speakers are going to cover the following topics:

1. The Sanctuary and the Three Angels' Messages

The sanctuary is the single most distinctive truth held by the SDAs which sets them apart from all other religious denominations. The proper understanding of the sanctuary and particularly the relation of Christ’s ministration in the Most Holy Place to the lives of the believers are essential for salvation and for the ability to stand without the Mediator when probation closes.

Closely connected with the sanctuary message are the Three Angels’ Messages, pointing firstly to the great work of cleansing or judgment that takes place in the heavenly sanctuary, then to the need to separate from the fallen religious bodies and finally, warning against the false system of worship that will culminate in the worship of  the beast and in the formation of the mark of  the beast.

2. The Law of God and the Faith of Jesus

The faithful believers who followed Christ by faith in the Most Holy Place discovered the law of God, the Ten Commandments, and its character - its immutability and indispensability (the very foundation God’s government and an expression of His character).

The faith of Jesus is an equally important attribute of God’s remnant. Only by faith, through the righteousness of Christ, can the people of God obtain both justification and sanctification. The new birth, the complete transformation of mind and the resulting life of holiness - are the gifts of Christ’s righteousness to the believing soul that daily surrenders his or her will to God and lives by faith. Through the lives of the people who reflect the image of Christ will God’s government be ultimately vindicated and the great controversy brought to an end.

3. The Spirit of Prophecy

The remnant people of God are also distinguished as those “which keep the commandments of God, and who have the testimony of Jesus Christ” (Rev. 11:19). That testimony of Jesus is identified in the same book as the “spirit of prophecy” (19:10). The remnant of God’s NT church is blessed by the gift of prophecy, which is the highest of all spiritual gifts, second only to the office of an apostle.

The spiritual ministry of Ellen G. White has been recognized by Seventh-day Adventist Movement as the fulfillment of God’s promise to the New Testament church: “So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Cor. 1:7). The inspired words committed to writing by the Lord’s messenger, E.G. White, will speak to and guide God’s remnant people until the very end of time. They are of enormous importance as we approach the final conflict.

4. The Second Advent and Millennium

The remnant church is also distinguished by its belief in a personal, visible, imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ in the clouds of heaven to execute judgment. The second coming of Christ will be preceded by the period of tribulation and it will be accompanied by the resurrection of the sleeping saints and translation of the living saints.

The speaker may here also briefly reflect on the Biblical teaching on the nature of man, namely on conditional immortality (another important pillar of Seventh-day Adventism). Immortality is the gift of God which Christ brings upon His second coming.

Further, the second coming of Christ will mark the beginning of the millennium, the 7th thousand year during which the land will rest desolate and the saints, transported to heaven, will engage with Christ and the holy angels in the work of judgment upon unrepentant sinner.
