The "Sabbath School" is a place where Bible students gather to study the Word of God. Having spent each day in study, they gather each Sabbath to study together and benefit from discussing what they have learned thoughout the week. These students are joined by hundreds of similar groups around the world who gather together to study that same topic. The SDARM General Conference Sabbath School Department works to coordinate the Sabbath school work in over 125 countries around the world. Quarterly lesson materials are prepared by this department and then translated and distributed to students around the world. These lessons, called Sabbath Bible Lessons, are a daily study program that are based solely on the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy without additional comments. The lessons have been published in several languages without interruption since 1922. Lesson material is also provided for youth, junior and childrens divisions. The Lord is preparing a people that will stand firm to the truth (Revelation 14:12), and the Sabbath School seeks to aid in this work of preparation. This special work fulfills both aspects of the Gospel Commission (Matthew 28:19, 20): teach the Word of God (the Bible) and be a public witness to all nations. If you would like to study the Word of God with other sincere Christians around the world, click on the lesson icon to the right of this message to see which topic we are studying this quarter. "The Sabbath school work is important, and all who are interested in the truth should endeavor to make it prosperous" (Testimonies on Sabbath School Work, p. 9). |
