Photo updates from our Regional Secretary for Northern Africa.

Despite significant hurdles like poverty and war, the work in Northern Africa is advancing by God's grace. Brother John Bosco, the General Conference's Regional Secretary for Northern Africa has sent the photos below as updates on the work in Tanzania, Cameroon, and Sierra Leone.

Geographically, these countries are in East Africa, Central Africa, and West Africa respectfully. When the work in Africa became too large for one Regional Secretary for Africa, it was divided into two regions assigned to two regional secretaries—Northern and Southern Africa.

Why is rest so important? What would happen if we did not designate a day for resting from our daily activities?

We left the times of slavery and long hours of the Industrial Revolution only to return to them by our own free will. Demanding routines, challenging projects, lofty goals, are part of today's daily life. When possible, we work incessantly. Time does not allow for pauses. This is what many of us think and how many of us act. But the body and mind ask for a break. Not just a few minutes of break during a long day, nor the hours of sleep, which are often neglected.

During the carnival season in Brazil, the SDARM churches provide camp meetings for the youth to serve as a refuge from the noise and bustle of the city.

February in Brazil is marked by the Carnival festivities—a 5-day long festival stemmed in a tradition of indulgence before lent. It is a time when Brazil attracts many tourists, and also a time when social inhibitions are suspended and the fulfillment of all forms of indulgences are encouraged.
